Singapore may not be under-endowed with boutique hotels, but to find one – namely Hotel Mono – strategically located in the vivacious Chinatown housed in a row of six historical shophouses is quite something.

The complete extensive refurbishment of the shophouses into the hotel was done by none other than President’s Design Award-winning firm Spacedge Designs.

Minimalist Magic: Hotel Mono Singapore

Opened just at the end of last year, Hotel Mono presents an unbeatable proposition for the stylish and savvy globetrotters (and locals) who expect top-notch rooms and service standards, at attractive prices.

Upon stepping into Hotel Mono, you are immediately greeted by a contemporary minimalist design language dominated by black and white tones.

Each of its 46 rooms features a seamless metal bar which functions as a light fixture, coat hanger and sculpture, not to mention good quality beddings and complete bathroom amenities. The construction of the rooms, however, is unique in the sense that every one of them has different layouts. While there is neither a restaurant nor a bar, let’s not forget that you are in an area that is home to many coffee shops as well as bars of all shapes and sizes.

Prices start at just S$140nett a night for a Single room, and under S$300 for Family rooms, which can sleep up to four people. Visit www.hotelmono.com for more information and reservations.
