Exclusive hotel chain the Dorchester Collection has promised that its new London boutique property will open later this year, the latest in a series of new luxury hotels to hit the British capital.

45 Park Lane is set to officially open in September in London’s well-heeled Mayfair district, although the hotel would ‘soft’ open to guests in August.

With just 45 rooms, the hotel is likely to be one of the smallest luxury properties in the city, although the Dorchester Collection — which also operates London’s Dorchester Hotel, Paris’s Plaza Athenee and the Beverly Hills Hotel in California — seems determined to offer the facilities of a much larger property.

That means Bang & Olufsen entertainment systems as well as mirror-mounted television screens in the bathroom and personalized minibars and amenity kits.

All rooms in the seven-floor property will offer views of Hyde Park, with the interior featuring cerused mahogany and suede walls and marble bathrooms, while the hotel’s mezzanine floor is home to a bar and small cinema room.

Most excitingly, the property is to feature the first European outpost for celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, also set to open in September.

CUT at 45 Park Lane will be modelled on the CUT restaurants already open in Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, Maui and Singapore, a “modern American steak restaurant” serving everything from rime dry and wet aged beef to succulent pan-roasted lobster and sautéed and roasted whole fresh fish.

Season rates for a room at the hotel in September start at £395, although the company expects rates to book up extremely quickly leaving only higher rates from £695.

45 Park Lane is the latest in a series of high-profile luxury hotel openings announced in London, which is expected to experience a tourism fillip thanks to this year’s royal wedding, the 2012 Olympic Games and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee (also in 2012).

New properties are also expected from InterContinental, Shangri-La, Alrov and Bulgari in the next couple of years, while this year has already seen spectacular new openings from the Renaissance St Pancras and W London Leicester Square.
