Asia-Pacific Boating celebrates 33 years of being on the water in Asia with a special edition for September-October.

In the coming issue, the editors and staff will offer a retrospective of some of their favourite destination photos in Asia.

Regular columnists will also be writing in with their views on how luxury yachting and yacht racing have evolved over the last three-and-a-third decades.

In addition, the September-October issue will feature Asia-Pacific Boating’s annual racing calendar, which showcases all the major regattas and racing personalities for the coming season.

“Yachting in Asia has made tremendous strides over the years, as major destinations and hubs, such as Phuket and Singapore, have built up their facilities, modelling themselves in many ways on the world’s yachting hotspots of the Caribbean and the Mediterranean,” said Ryan Swift, editor of Asia-Pacific Boating.

Raising the profile of the magazine further will be a forthcoming advertisement to appear on CNN, showcasing prime footage of yachts and racing in the region.

The ad will begin running in October and November.

The magazine began as a first-of-its kind effort to draw together disparate yacht clubs, races and boating enthusiasts that made up the Asia yachting scene.

Today, Asia-Pacific Boating has a distribution of over 40,000 copies around the region, as well as in the Mediterranean.

“The idea of yachting and yacht charter in Asia is now beginning to register among superyacht owners and captains worldwide, and we like to think that the work we’ve done in promoting Asia has helped in some way,” said Olivier Burlot, managing director of Blu Inc Media, which publishes Asia-Pacific Boating.
