Stelliers Host its Sixth Edition of The Annual Hotelier Awards

Stelliers, formally known as The Hotelier Awards, heralded its sixth edition with an extravagant gala at the iconic Marina Bay Sands on 28 May 2019. For the second consecutive year, Singapore is the host country for this stellar event supporting the nation-state’s top hotels, supported by partners RH Contract, Lavazza Group and LUXUO to name a few.

Stelliers has become a recognised symbol of excellence and is known to be a powerful establishment for inspiring young individuals to enter the hospitality industry as their career choice. The evening celebration bought together over 300 hoteliers, industry professionals, their friends and families as they commemorated the announcement of the 2019 Asia & South Asia Hoteliers of the Year.

For the 2019 awards show celebrating Asia’s and South Asia’s top hoteliers, Stelliers welcomed applications from over 100 properties across 19 different countries. Winners of each category were decided by an expert panel of judges over the course of the year. Based on a combination of facts presented in the applications, interviews, and testimonials, the two-round judging process ensures that the winners in each category are truly deserving of the title.

Stelliers is more than an awards show for hotels and hoteliers, in addition to the laudatory trophies, it is a celebration which also recognises the effort and professional excellence of the industry’s most outstanding across two competitions all across Asia. Earlier this year, Stelliers proudly announced its expansion into India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Pakistan, opening up the opportunity to a greater number of hotelier heroes. Awards were presented for each competition throughout the evening, resulting in a total of 34 hotelier winners being honoured with a ‘Stellier Award’.

Bringing home the title of ‘Corporate Hotelier of the Year” 2019 was Markus Engel from Urban Resort Concepts for APAC while the highly anticipated “General Manager of the Year” Award for South Asia went to Nitesh Gandhi of JW Marriott New Dehli Aerocity and for South East-Asia, the General Manager of the Year Award went to Wiliam Haandrikman of Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. The awards will continue to draw attention to these exceptional professionals in years to come, giving them due recognition which the hospitality industry rarely commemorates in a formalised manner. Hoteliers from around Asia are kindly invited to participate in next year’s exciting awards.
